While many organisations continue to make encouraging recoveries from the pandemic, issues such as inflation and supply chain delays are likely to pose significant challenges in the months ahead.

With the competition for the best talent heating up, HR leaders are also recognising the importance of tracking the rapidly changing sentiment and needs of today’s global workforce.

Stephanie Silvester, Senior Marketing Director, Asia Pacific, ADP, told HRM Asia, “As employers and employees grapple with sustained disruption and pressure, our findings highlight the extent to which recruitment and retention are among the most business-critical issues of today, and how that is impacting the workplace.”

Join Silvester at HR Leadership Series: Live, where she will share key insights based on a survey of 32,924 workers in 17 countries around the world, including over 8,685 working exclusively in the gig economy.

She added, “ADP’s People at Work study this year captures some fascinating and unique developments and highlights just how widespread and globally consistent some of these trends are, while underscoring how nuanced and complex the situation is at local levels.”

Her session, titled, Managing Your Workforce as The Pendulum Swings Back, will also examine how employers can better understand employees’ attitudes towards the current world of work, so as to attract and retain talent to create stronger and more resilient businesses.

With businesses continuing to face change and disruption, the critical importance of organisational agility cannot be understated. How then, can HR leaders help their organisation turn agility from a mindset to more?

Rob Squires, Vice President and Head of Sales for Asia and Japan, Ceridian, said, “The pandemic has changed the way we do work, and organisational resilience and agility are crucial for businesses to adapt and thrive in these times. Our recently released 2022 Executive Survey report found that while leaders are confident in managing disruptions, there’s still work to be done.”

At HR Leadership Series: Live, his session, titled, Making Agility More Than a Mindset, will highlight key findings from Ceridian’s 2022 Executive Survey, and how they demonstrate why organisations need to do more to build a change-ready culture, resilient leadership, and agile systems to prepare for changes.

Squires added, “I’m looking forward to our session at HR Leadership Series: Live, where we’ll share the results of our research, and how organisations can build resilience and action items to help organisations manage tomorrow’s disruptions.”

Also joining HR Leadership Series: Live is Leon Leong, Co-Founder and Chief Revenue Officer, MindFi, who will discuss how organisations can benefit from a community-first approach to employee wellbeing, and how they can implement a community-led Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) that is engaging and effective in fostering a culture of wellbeing across the workplace.

Traditional EAPs, said Leong, offer reactive and often passive solutions to workplace wellbeing, and struggle with low utilisation and awareness. In his session, titled, Develop A Community-First Approach for The Future of Workplace Wellbeing, Leong will explain why a community-driven approach enhances psychological safety, reduces social stigma, and promotes open conversations on topics related to mental health and wellbeing.

“With a community-driven approach, employees are engaged and empowered with community assets and resources that they can leverage to proactively enhance their wellbeing and productivity,” he said.

Organised by HRM Asia, the in-person HR Leadership Series: Live is taking place at the Marina Bay Sands Singapore on Thursday, September 8, and will provide HR leader in the region with key insights into how they can build critical strategies that prioritise hybrid leadership and change management skills.

Besides being supported by leading tech companies such as ADP, Ceridian, and MindFi, HR Leadership Series: Live will also feature a lineup of distinguished speakers who will discuss the key shifts and priorities that will shape the workplace in 2023 and beyond.
